Albert B. Collver III's own books, in scholarship, church history, and the history of the Collver family.
Three Doves Press is the imprint under which Albert B. Collver III publishes his own work. The name is the family’s oldest word. Culver, from the Old English culfre, means a dove, and the Colvers, Culvers, and Collvers of Dedham, New London, Schooley’s Mountain, and Norfolk County carried it for four centuries before anyone made a press of it.
The books are the kind a pastor and historian writes when he has kept asking questions longer than was convenient: a family history built from the records, with the documents reproduced and the legends weighed against the evidence, and studies in Lutheran church history and theology.
